She is fucking amazing.
I met her in March of 2016 when I took her Creative Nonfiction class. (Wait... I've only known her a little over a year? How is that even possible? Feels like a lot longer than that... in a good way!)
The first time she said fuck in class... like 10 minutes into day one... I thought, "I like her already."
She breaks the "rules" I always thought you couldn't break and be where she is. She showed me that you can be yourself and be successful. You don't have to conform to societal norms.
She's inked, has a pierced lip, has short spiky hair that is a different color every month. The first time I saw it purple I couldn't stop smiling!
She proves that just because you have all that, just because you like the word fuck, it doesn't mean you're not a genuinely sweet, caring, crazy smart, trustworthy, and ridiculously hardworking person. Because she is all of those and so much more.
She's a poet.
Like a published, rock your socks off with her wording skills, PhD holding poet.
An animal lover. If you can't find her... look for nearest dog, cat, or... crustacean.
She's a mommy, teacher, editor, activist, and, and, and....
She's the best writing mentor you can find.
She's fucking hilarious!
And I adore her beautiful, crazy face!
